Community spaces for teen girls don't exist. This is a problem because safe spaces give girls an opportunity to heal, connect, be empowered, and build social capital.

Shine Girl Co is a pop-up spa and wellness lounge designed to connect and uplift girls while also integrating self-care education.

Growing up I experienced periods of self-doubt, anxiety, and several other issues. I remember a teacher sat me down at a table once because I wasn’t doing well in school. She looked down at a piece of paper with my name on it and said “Elizabeth Navarro, with a last name like that, I’ll tell you what; with a name like that you can be anything you want”. Those words left a lasting impact on me. I didn’t go on to become a straight-A student or a tri-sport athlete, but since that day I’ve always believed that I could be anything I wanted and that name is powerful.

As a mental health practitioner, I’m passionate about girls’ empowerment because I’ve worked with many girls struggling with critical issues and I know firsthand how one experience can change a story.
