New firm offering STEM-prep for infants wins 2018 Great Social Enterprise Pitch
A digital program that teaches parents how to stoke an infant’s curiosity and prepare them to learn about STEM won the fifth annual Great Social Enterprise Pitch on Saturday at The Ware Center. STEM Starts Now, founded by pediatric occupational therapist Aimee Ketchum of Lititz, won $7,500 cash and $15,000 in pro-bono services. STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math. The 2018 pitch began early this year by drawing 38 contestants from Lancaster, Berks, York and Dauphin counties. The pool was whittled down to 10, then to five for the finals on Saturday.

Jason Grullon is the co-founder of the ethical fashion brand VIRTUROCKS and the ethical fashion platform DelCayo. He is a Social Entrepreneur bred in the Dominican Republic and a former consultant for international development agencies like GIZ, unicefand UNDP. After his MA in law and business in 2015, he decided to co-create Virtū in order to help in bringing fairness and innovation to the production of garments around the world, starting with his country. He’s in charge of corporate vision, social development and market disruption.
