Witcraft, beneath the word \u201cPriorities\u201d and the picture of a young boy, has been prominent in Cathie Rosado\u2019s home d\u00e9cor since college.&nbsp; <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8154 alignleft\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/180808_ForeverLanc_019-800x615.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lancfound.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/180808_ForeverLanc_019-800x615.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.lancfound.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/180808_ForeverLanc_019-768x590.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lancfound.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/180808_ForeverLanc_019-1600x1230.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.lancfound.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/180808_ForeverLanc_019.jpg 2000w, https:\/\/www.lancfound.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/180808_ForeverLanc_019-600x461.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/>Having both adopted and natural children tested the resolve and made that quote real.&nbsp; &nbsp;As the first children have moved into adulthood some of being \u201cimportant in the life of a child\u201d has changed to include a longer term legacy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Approaching a milestone birthday and realizing the goal of establishing her own foundation to leave a legacy was not practical led Cathie to the community foundation offices to explore alternative options of donor advised funds, designated funds and endowments.&nbsp; Legacy, defined as Leaving an Everlasting Gift to Affect Change in Youth, is the theme that drives Cathie\u2019s interest in Forever Lancaster. She can affect change in youth through ever changing ways with a donor advised fund, through Christian education with the Veritas Academy endowment and through character developing sports with the Upward Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Legacy also means preparing the next generation to follow in her footsteps.&nbsp; Daughter Lydia has displayed considerable interest in philanthropic endeavors and establishing a donor advised fund that she will eventually manage on her own is a natural step in continuing the legacy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA hundred years from now my bank account and car will be gone and someone else will be living in our house, but Lancaster County will benefit because we joined the Forever Lancaster movement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rosado Family is changing the future of Lancaster County by teaching their children that philanthropy is for everyone. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":25323,"parent":80,"menu_order":163,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-templates\/story.php","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-6425","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
